Works continued on the Pitot Static system (Wings – Fuselage Attach Points). 3D printing conduit holders for the Electronic / Battery Bay Compartment & Ext Power Plug Cover. Manufacturing the Baseplate for the Ext Power Connector incl a switch (for either charging the battery with a regulated Ext Pwr or unregulated for engine start only).

3D printing conduit fitting

1st attempts to print the fittings for our 21mm corrugated conduit and air lines. The fitting has been designed for the RV-10 ribs. Material used: Taulmann Alloy910 (nylon)

Many thanks to Adrian (http://tasrv10.com/?cat=17) for the research, design & sharing his files and adjusting the inner diameter to accept our 21mm conduit!

Big thank you to my friend Ivan for taking the time and adjustments needed to print out the parts! Next printouts will be done with different temp & speed adjustments for best results..It looks like every printer needs a slightly different setup. (I am new to this technology)

The GRETZ pitot mast will accommodate the Garmin Pitot Tube in future. I am planning on chrome plating this part. The scratches on the bottom skin will have to be polished later. Built per Gretz plans; delivered from Aircraft Spruce.

(46) Main & Nose Gear: Right landing gear incl. wheel was attached without issues but the pin on the left side wouldn’t go in and eventually bent. During removal the axle was damaged so I ordered a new one including 2 new pins from BERINGER. Forward leg mounted with rubber dampeners with no issues. We had to utilize a temporary support for the left side until we get replacement parts from BERINGER.

INSTRUMENT PANEL

3D design for the Instrument: I positioned a piezzo buzzer (free dowload from Grabcad) behind the instrument panel. This one will work as a backup and will be connected to the original Vans stall switch. The other design involves an external VR by B&C. It’s not a 100% accurate model but it’s good enough to check if you have enough space behind the panel.. Lastly I needed to move 2 screw holes on the left Aerosport instrument panel insert to accommodate the EFIS’s nutplates.

Push Buttons & Indicators: Push Buttons & Indicators. Some of them will be readable only when backlit, that’s the idea. The push buttons can operate as discrete inputs for various systems (e.g. G3X touch to inhibit ESP-X or manually activate display Reversion).. There is a typo on the DSPL RERVERS button and I’ll have a new switch engraved. Push Buttons and indicators are high quality, made in Germany. Momentary or ON/OFF functions available.

Flight Controls Lock: Initial design seems to work well except ailerons / flaps lock. We run into the danger of damage when selecting flaps above 15deg with the lock installed. Ailerons + Wing Tip makes more sense but the discharger is in the way – we will think it over.. Rudder & Elevator lock works very well.
